Gladys Rosely (Olhoeft) Chopski, 88

Gladys Rosely (Olhoeft) Chopski, 88, of Austin, Minnesota, passed peacefully on Sept. 8, 2017, in Plano, Texas.

She was born on Jan. 21, 1929, to Louis and Clara (Reul) Olhoeft. Gladys married Joseph Gerald Chopski on Oct. 18, 1949, in Waseca, Minnesota.

Gladys was employed for a number of years with the Enger Abstract Company. She was a dedicated volunteer to many service organizations in the Austin area, including the Red Cross, Meals on Wheels and a number of activities at St. Olaf Lutheran Church.

Gladys is survived by her daughter, Nancy Waltz and husband, Mike of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Bret Waltz and wife, Katherine of McKinney, Texas and Tyler Waltz of Arlington, Texas; sister, June Taschner of Westminster, Colorado; and numerous other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Joseph Gerald Chopski.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made on her behalf to the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center that both she and Jerry loved so dearly.
