Flu vaccinations planned at schools

Published 8:26 am Monday, September 25, 2017

Mayo Clinic Health System will offer flu shots at Mower County schools to make it easy and convenient for parents to vaccinate their children.

Consent forms will be sent home with children.

The vaccine, given by injection, is especially important for children and adults with chronic health problems.

Parents may also download and print the consent form by going to mayoclinichealthsystem.org/locations/Austin.

Parents should send the filled-out form to school at least two days prior to the scheduled vaccination clinic. Vaccinations will not be given without a signed consent form. The cost of seasonal flu vaccine is covered by most insurance plans. Mayo Clinic Health System will bill insurance, unless MnVFC eligible.

For more information, speak with your school’s nurse or ask your primary care provider at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin.
