Cardinals use fourth quarter push to beat Burros

The LeRoy-Ostrander football team made some big fourth quarter plays to beat Lanesboro (1-3 overall) 24-20 in LeRoy Friday.

The Cardinals (2-2 overall) sealed the game when Riley Olson, who had 18 tackles, made an interception on Lanesboro’s final drive. LO had pushed its lead to 22-14 in the fourth quarter when Trey Hungerholt ran for a TD.

Hungerholt threw for 175 yards and two touchdowns and he ran for 105 yards and a score.

“Riley Olson played a good game at middle linebacker and he did a great job on defense,” LO head coach Aaron Hungerholt said. “Trey carried us on the offensive side and everybody played their role. It was a great team effort.”

Sean Lohuis and Zach Hanson each had a receiving TD for LO.
