Violet Grace Beaver, 97, of Kasson, Minnesota, passed away Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center, Minnesota.

Violet Grace Beaver, 97

Violet was born on July 26, 1920, in Dodge Center, the daughter of Engval and Mabelle (Hanson) Hegna. She was baptized at Evanger Lutheran church of Sargeant, Minnesota, by Gilbert Appen on the Sept. 5, 1920, and was confirmed by the Rev. B.A. Johnson on June 30, 1935. She attended rural school in Dodge County and was a member of Evanger Lutheran Church until her marriage to Bert Beaver of Kasson, on Jan. 8, 1938, at Hayfield, Minnesota. Violet lived on the same farm for 66 years in Dodge County most of her life, until she moved to Kasson in 2000. She taught Sunday school and Bible School at West St. Olaf Church which she loved very much. Violet was a member of West St. Olaf Ladies Aid. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, and her family and grandchildren.

Violet is survived by two daughters, Barbara Meyer, Kasson and Judy (David) Bollum, Rochester, Minnesota; one son, Darrell (Jean) Beaver, Hackensack, Minnesota; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Violet was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Russell, Victor, Wesley, Douglas and Leland; and sisters, Mavis Seim and Virginia Blaine.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 501 Second St. NW in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church on Friday.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, at West St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 70640 260th Ave., Hayfield.

The family prefers memorials to West St. Olaf Lutheran Church or Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center.
