Sarah Ann King, 97, of Adams, Minnesota, passed away at the Adams Health Care Center surrounded by family on Sunday, August 27, 2017.

Sarah was born on January 27, 1920, in Sargeant, Minnesota. Her parents were George and Mary (Taggart) Brady. She married Henry King on August 25, 1942, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin, Minnesota. They farmed near Adams for over 30 years and lived on their farm until moving to Adams in 1984. In addition to being a homemaker, she was also a substitute cook at the Adams High School and worked at Libby’s Canning Company in Rochester. Sarah was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Adams American Legion Auxiliary and was a Gold Star Mother.

Sarah especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She liked cooking, sewing and quilting. Her favorite hobby was playing cards and being a member of the “Jolly Dozen” card club for many years. She loved to have fun and had a wonderful sense of humor.

Sarah is survived by her children, Robert (Jean) King, Ft. Myers, Florida, Larry (Jan) King, Northwood, Iowa, Dave King, Omaha, Nebraska, Joyce (Robin) Miller, LeRoy, Minnesota, Ray (Donna) King, Rosemount, Minnesota; ten grandchildren, Adam King, Amanda (Ryan) Johnson, Brad King, Andy Miller, Danny (Ashley) Miller, Gina Miller, Brett (Nami) King, Amy King, Alex King and Sarah King; five great grandchildren, Kaylee Haberman, Evan Johnson, Beau Miller, Olivia King and Elise King; brother, Harold (LuAnn) Brady of Florida; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Henry; son Ronald; parents George and Mary; and brothers Edward, George, James, John and Jacob.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 1, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams with Father Swaminatha Pothireddy officiating. Interment will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Adams Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary service at 5 p.m. There will be visitation at the church on Friday for one hour before the service.
