Game over for GameStop employee; Woman allegedly admitted to taking over $2,500

A GameStop employee was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly admitting she had stolen over $2,500 from the store.

Rebecca Anne Taylor, 22, of Austin was charged with felony theft in Mower County District Court on Wednesday.

According to the court report, a GameStop loss prevention manager told police Taylor had allegedly stolen a total of $2,502.98 over a three-month period. He said she provided him with a written statement admitting to the thefts.

Police contacted Taylor, who allegedly admitted stealing the money to help pay her bills.

Taylor is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 3.
