The Austin Chamber of Commerce’s 32nd annual Ag Appreciation Summer Cookout will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, in the Plager building on the Mower County Fairgrounds.
Organized through the chamber’s agribusiness committee, the event is designed to recognize the contributions of agriculture to the community and show appreciation to valued customers from all walks of life.
More than 1,300 people attended last year. All are served a Hormel Windsor chop dinner, ice cream and refreshments. Many are guests of sponsoring businesses.
Proceeds from the cookout help support a variety of agricultural organizations and events, including Mower County 4-H, Mower County Dairy Association banquet, Mower County Corn and Soybean Growers, Mower County Pork Producers, Austin FFA and the chamber’s annual Day on the Farm for elementary students.
Advance tickets are $10 and are now available at the chamber. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $12.
