The Austin track and field team qualified three athletes for the state meet on the first day of the Section 1AA meet in Lakeville South Thursday.

Austin junior Sydney Marsh earned her second trip to state, while senior throwers Amber Hansen and Pat Hagan will be making their first trip to state.

Hansen took third in the shot put with a distance of 41-3.5 and second in the discus with a distance of 129-7 to get to state in both events, Hagan took second in the discus with a distance of 145-4 to get to state and Marsh took first in the pole vault with a 10-6 to get to state.
