The No. 6 seeded Southland softball team had its postseason run come to an end when it lost 7-4 to No. 4 Mabel-Canton and it fell 11-1 in five innings to No. 2 Wabasha-Kellogg in the Section 1A East tournament in Wabasha Friday.
The Rebels (5-17 overall) drew eight walks in the game against MC, but they weren’t able to take advantage. The Cougars scored five unearned runs in the contest.
“We had a very good last week here,” Southland head coach Greg Schultz said. “I think the girls really improved from the first week of the season. We were really competitive and I couldn’t be prouder of them.”
