Hayfield advances to Saturday with 13-3 win over USC

Coming off a split in its first two playoff games Saturday, the Hayfield Vikings responded with a statement 13-3 win over United South Central Monday.
Hayfield put up three early runs off five hits in the first inning and sailed from there.
“It was a good day to hit,” head coach Kasey Krekling said.
Brady Nelson got the win going four and a third innings giving up just one earned run on five hits with five strikeouts. Luke Reisus mopped things up with with just two runs allowed in two and two-thirds innings.
“Brady Nelson and Luke Risius, they are both freshman and they did a great job in their first playoff experience,” Krekling said.
The Vikings will face Randolph at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Riverland Community College.
