After a 16-day break, the Lyle-Pacelli softball team returned to action as it lost 17-4 to No. 10 ranked Randolph (9-0 overall, 5-0 SEC) in five innings on the road Thursday.
The Athletics (1-1 overall, 1-1 SEC) came out swinging as Abbey Neve had a two-run single and Mia Bauer had a two-run double to put LP up 4-0 in the first inning. The Rockets broke the game open when they scored 13 runs in the fourth inning.
“We started off strong but Randolph exposed some of our inexperienced players,” LP head coach Jeff Yocom said. “We had many key players missing, but we got a game in finally.”
