Mower County Historical Society cleaning up Saturday
The Mower County Historical Society is seeking people to help clean up its grounds from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday morning in preparation for the tourism season.
“We will take all we can get,” said MCHS Executive Director John Haymond about volunteers. “A couple of dozen would be nice.”
The work will encompass the entire grounds and will include tasks such as dusting and trimming weeds.
Haymond said that volunteers will need to bring a pair of work gloves. Other necessary tools will be provided. Haymond also said that pizza will be ordered to feed the volunteers.
This is the fourth year the MCHS has asked for help from the public. Another clean up will be held in October to prepare for winter.
“We appreciate the help,” Haymond said.
