Austin fails to advance in Hockeyville rink contest
Riverside Arena failed to advance to the four-team Kraft Hockeyville USA contest, according to Austin Park and Recreation’s Facebook page.
The arena was in the running for a top prize of $150,000 and advancement through the competitors depended on online voting. Riverside advanced to the top 10 last week.
And while Riverside did not make the top four, the top 10 placing “gave us a $10,000 prize,” according to the Facebook page.
Park and Rec urged voters to support Bloomington Ice Garden, the only other Minnesota arena in the running.
