Jill H. Haubenschild, age 45 of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, died suddenly Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, after a brief illness in the comfort of her home.

Jill Hermine was born Sept. 17, 1971 in Rochester, Minnesota to John and Jean (Ramsey) Haubenschild. She graduated with the class of 1990 from Blooming Prairie High School. Jill loved Blooming Prairie. She worked in banking, crafts, waitressed and cooked at local restaurants, baby sat, worked at Budget Mart, and often house sat and cared for the pets of several friends. began her career in health care at the Blooming Prairie Nursing Home. It was at that time she returned to school and completed her training as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Trained Medication Aid (TMA). She then worked at the Owatonna Hospice House, and did home health care through the Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin. Jill was currently working as a CNA at Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin. She was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. She was also a life member of the Blooming Prairie VFW Auxiliary, and member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her mother Jean Haubenschild of Blooming Prairie; sister Jane Haubenschild of Farmington; honorary sister Nikki Bigbee of Farmington; Fur Baby Bug; dear friend Sherry Anderson of Austin; nephews Nathan, Bradley, and Lucas Retterath.

She was preceded in death by her father John Haubenschild on June 3, 2006; Fur Baby Barney; grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017 at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie with Pastor Heidi Heimgartner officiating. Interment is in the St. Columbanus Cemetery. The Haubenschild family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017 at First Lutheran Church and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials in Jill’s memory may be directed to American Red Cross, Humane Society, or donor’s choice.
