Nancy K. Laite, 70

Nancy K. Laite, 70, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, died at home surrounded by the love of her family on Friday Jan.27, 2017.

She was born on Aug. 24, 1946, in Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of  Arnold and Margaret “Peggy” (Fink) Stuhr.  She graduated from Pacelli High School in Austin. On Oct. 10, 1964, she married her soul mate, Tom Laite. They lived in Austin for a time and she did some babysitting.

They moved to Albert Lea and through the years she had worked at a nursing home and a music store. She began working for an abstract business and then went into partnership and owned and operated her own abstract company. She sold her share of the abstract business and worked for the assessor’s office at the Freeborn County Courthouse. Due to her failing health she retired from the assessor’s office in 2010, a job she much enjoyed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Peggy Stuhr; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Vernon and Twyla Laite.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, at Bonnerup Funeral Service. The Rev. Russell Scepaniak will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour before service at the funeral home.
