The Lyle-Pacelli girls basketball team beat Sleepy Eye 63-37 in the Hayfield Showcase Saturday.

Brooke Walter scored 24 points for the Athletics (10-2 overall), who started the game on a 24-2 run. Walter hit four three-pointer in the first half and Kristi Fett added 21 points.

Sleepy Eye competed in the state tournament last season.

“That’s the same Sleepy Eye team that went to state last year, they’re awfully good. Give credit to our kids. We needed a big time win against a top notch team,” LP head coach Justin Morris said.
