BP girls basketball team gets past USC

The Blooming Prairie girls basketball team was able to grind out a 44-41 win over United South Central (7-8 overall, 2-5 Gopher) on the road Friday.
McKenna Hein had six points, nine rebounds, two steals and three assists for BP (9-8 overall, 5-3 Gopher) and Marissa Larson had 18 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
“Sam Wurst did an excellent job defending USC’s leading scorer and making it tough for her all night,” BP head coach John Bruns said. “We didn’t have our best night shooting the ball, but we defended all night and made winning plays at the end.”
