Barbara Kay Christofferson Deatherage, 68, passed away on Jan. 21, 2017, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at P.E.T.S. Clinic, 500 Wichita St., Wichita Falls. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park.
Barbara was born on July 15, 1948, in Austin, Minnesota, to Raymond and Esther Buehner Christofferson. She married Timothy Deatherage on Dec. 28, 1977, in Austin. He preceded her in death in 2004. Barbara was a retired bookkeeper for King and Freeman CPA, LLP in Wichita Falls. She was involved with the Humane Society, P.E.T.S. Clinic, and the Underdog Express in Wichita Falls. She was involved with Helping Hounds of New York City. She had lived in Wichita Falls for 40 years, moving from Austin.
Survivors include her children, Todd Deatherage of Wichita Falls and Amanda Deatherage Folden and husband Nathan of Leesburg, Florida; four sisters: Sharon Barnes and husband Keith, Delores Moe, Phyllis Paulson and husband Tom, and Mary Herrick and husband Jim, all of Minnesota; and grandchildren, Jennie Folden and Bentley Folden. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Muriel Schwartz; and three brothers-in-law, Ronnie Moe, Anthony Deatherage, and Terry Deatherage.
