Athletics win 70th straight SEC contest

The magic number was 70 for the Lyle-Pacelli girls basketball team in Houston Friday night.

Athletics won their 70th straight conference game and that was also the amount of points they put up when they beat the Hurricanes (3-6 overall, 3-2 SEC) 70-29.

Kristi Fett had 21 points in the win for the Athletics (8-1 overall, 6-0 SEC).

LP will play at Goodhue 3 p.m. Saturday.

“Looking forward to a huge road test tomorrow in Goodhue,” LP head coach Justin Morris said. “They’ve become our biggest rivals probably, it’s a great opportunity to measure ourselves agains the best and see how we stack up.”
