Austin again had more babies born there than Albert Lea in 2016.

Last year, 747 babies were born at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea and Austin; 386 were in Austin and 361 were in Albert Lea, according to a news release.

Of the 747, there were 374 girls and 373 boys.

Last year, the most popular girl’s name in Austin was Sophia while the most popular boy’s name was Ayden. The most popular girl’s name in Albert Lea was Aria, and the most popular boy’s name was Henry.
