Kathryn R. Dennis, 85 of Austin, Minnesota, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, at Our House Memory Care. Kathryn Ruth Krokus was born Jan. 16, 1931, in Austin, the daughter of John and Alice (Asper) Krokus. She received her education at Lincoln Elementary School and Austin High School. Kathryn worked at St. Olaf Hospital as a nurse’s aide in the nursery, Younkers as a sales associate and Ellis Middle School in the nurse’s office. On Oct. 25, 1975, she married Donald Dennis in Austin. Kathryn was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafts and agate hunting on Lake Superior. Kathryn also loved camping and traveling, making trips to Florida, Europe, Greece, the Grand Canyon and the Calgary Stampede.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Dennis of Austin; a daughter, Janis Borum of Monessen Pennsylvania; two sons, David Howe of Odessa, Texas, and James Armbrust of Austin; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a sister, Marilyn DeFiorie of Anaheim, California; two step-daughters, Donna Dennis of Austin and Shari (James) Freitag of Edina, Minnesota; six step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; four step-great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, William Krokus; her first husband, Leonard Armbrust; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Forbes officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Worlein Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
