A delivery man was robbed of two, large pepperoni pizzas early Wednesday after being called to a residence that did not exist, according to Austin police.

The 27-year-old delivery man from Steve’s Pizza, who was not identified, was delivering the pizzas to a residence on the 800 block of Third Avenue Southwest, at 12:43 a.m. About the time he realized he had been given a false address, he was called to a nearby residence by two teens standing outside who said they were the ones who ordered the pizzas. The two were described as older teens, both caucasian, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and thin.

The delivery man handed one teen the pizzas who, in turn, asked the other one to get the money to pay the bill. As one turned as if going to get money, the pair took off running with the pizzas.

Police followed footsteps in the snow, which led them to an alley in which they found one of the pizzas and pepperoni scattered on the ground, obviously dropped while the pair was on the run. Officers returned to the home where the teens were last seen but there was no answer at the door. No arrests have been made.

Cost of the two pizzas was $31.14.
