State patrol releases names from fatal crash north of Hayfield; Wreck closed Hwy. 56 for nearly 4 hours

The Minnesota State Patrol have released the names of the people involved in two-vehicle crash north of Hayfield early Tuesday morning that killed one man.

Severt R. Fiksen, 66, of Dodge Center, Minnesota was killed following a head-on crash with Timothy R. Tlougan, 19, of Hayfield at around 5:37 a.m. Tuesday.

According to the MSP report, Tlougan was traveling northbound in a Chevy Silverado and attempted to pass another vehicle when he collided head-on with Fiksen who was travling southbound in a Ford Focus.

Tlougan also suffered severe injuries in the accident.

The accident closed the section of Highway 56 for approximately four hours for clean-up and reconstruction of the crash. MSP was assisted by Hayfield Fire and Rescue, Hayfield Ambulance, Dodge Center Fire and Rescue, Dodge Center Ambulance, Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and Gold Cross Ambulance responded.
