State diving: Austin’s Mullenbach advances to finals

Austin senior Maddie Mullenbach stepped up in her first appearance at the Minnesota Class A state diving meet at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis Wednesday.
Mullenbach was able to advance to Friday’s final round by finishing in the top-16 out of 32 competitors in the diving preliminaries. Mullenbach is in 10th place with a score of 228.00 after her first round of drives.
Saylor Hawkins of Breck School leads the field with a score of 298.40.
The Class A swimming and diving finals will take place at the Aquatic Center noon Friday.
