Space for holiday items is needed at The Salvation Army store in Austin, so to create more space, staff will temporarily stop picking up furniture in the community until Jan. 1.

“We will still accept furniture,” said Lt. David Amick. “You just have to bring it in yourself.”

In addition to providing more space for holiday items, the move helps provide a safe shopping experience.

If someone has a furniture item to donate, they are asked to consider keeping it until after Jan. 1, when furniture will again be picked up by the corps.
