Mildred Evelyn Johnson, 80, of Brownsdale, Minnesota, passed away on Nov. 4, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Hospital St. Marys Campus in Rochester, Minnesota.

Mildred was born Sept. 28, 1936, the daughter of Glenn and Rena (Heikes) Johnson in Austin, Minnesota. She graduated from Austin High School in 1954, then attended Austin Community College. Mildred then attended Mankato State College for a teaching degree. She taught school in Tracy, Minnesota, for two years and first and second grades in Stewartville, Minnesota, for 39 years. Mildred enjoyed traveling, sewing, crafts, and was active at the First Baptist Church in Brownsdale.

Mildred is survived by two brothers, Wayne Johnson and Lowell Johnson, Waltham, Minnesota; two nieces, Marlene (Bob) Heinz, LaSalle, Illinois; Linda (Arlie) Brandmeyer, Ankeny, Iowa; nephew, Wesley (Dondee) Johnson, Sargeant, Minnesota; great-nephew, Bryce  (Krista) Johnson, Stewartville; great-niece and great-nephew, Sydney and Aaron Brandmeyer, Ankeny; great-great-nieces, Kelsey and Carly; and great-great-nephew, Lucas Johnson, Stewartville. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Neil and his wife, Lillian Johnson; and sister, Doris Ellen Johnson.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 Second St. N.W., Hayfield, and one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at First Baptist Church, 206 E. Main St. in Brownsdale, with Pastor Kenneth Petzold officiating. Blessed be her memory.
