Ludwig Wencl, 91, a lifelong resident and farmer of Steele County, died on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna, Minnesota.

Ludwig is survived by his wife of 63 years,  Julaine; children, Tom (Karen) Wencl, Jerry Wencl and Dennis (Mary) Wencl, all of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, Becky (Dennis) Kelm of Owatonna, Annette (Chris) Ashley of Middelton, Wisconsin and Mary (Daryl) Von Ravenhorst of Janesville, Minnesota; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Mag Wencl. Ludwig was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial is set for 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016,  at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Owatonna. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday at Brick-Meger Funeral Home (1603 Austin Road, Owatonna) and one hour before the funeral liturgy on Monday. A Knights of Columbus rosary will be said at 7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials are preferred to Owatonna Hospice Patient Care Fund or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
