Lorrayne Viola Krupicka, 89

Lorrayne Viola (Hammel) Krupicka, 89, of Austin, Minnesota, passed into Eternal Life on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, at Sacred Heart Care Center.

Lorrayne was born on July 5, 1927, to Clyde and Viola (Gunderson) Hammel. She grew up in Sioux City, Iowa. She married George Krupicka of Austin on March 12, 1950, and they were blessed with one daughter, Rosanne. George passed away Aug. 30, 1960.

Lorrayne worked as a secretary and in retail prior to attending Austin Junior College. She graduated from Mankato State University in 1971 with a degree in history. Lorrayne and Rosanne moved to Buffalo, Minnesota, in 1971where she lived and worked for Farmers Home Administration as a loan officer. Lorrayne received a promotion to move to the district office in Austin. They returned to Austin in 1979. Lorrayne loved her job with the FHA and retired in 1993. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Lorrayne loved cats, crocheting, putting together puzzles, reading, and watching old TV shows and movies.

Lorrayne is survived by her daughter, Rosanne, Austin; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wallace, Sioux City, Melvin, Sioux City, and Milford, Downey, California; and her loving husband, George.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 802 Fourth St. SW, Austin, with the Reverend Michael Olmsted officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church for one hour before the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lorrayne’s honor to the Mower County Humane Society.
