The Austin girls basketball team had its underclassmen step up as it opened the season with a 65-35 win over Stewartville (0-1 overall) on the road Tuesday.

Freshman Colie Justice poured in a career-high 14 points for the Packers (1-0 overall), senior Rebecca Younis had nine points and six assists and sophomore KieJuana VanZant had 10 points.

Austin had 12 played score in the win and four of those players were freshmen our younger.
