The Austin City Council will discuss its options for adding a bike lane to the Fourth Avenue Northwest reconstruction.

During it’s 5:30 p.m. meeting Monday at Austin City Hall, 500 Fourth Ave. NE., the City Council will discuss adding on-road bike lanes in the project to reconstruct the road from Fourth Street the 12th Street Northwest.

However, city staff is proposing making the bike lanes 4.5 feet instead of the standard 5 feet to have enough room for the vehicle lane, bike lane, a parking lane and sidewalk.
