The Austin Bruins lost a pair of weekend contests as they lost 6-5 in overtime to the Coulee Region Chill in Riverside Arena Saturday and they lost 3-2 in a shootout to the Brookings Blizzard on the road Sunday.

Austin’s Dan Petrick tied the game against Coulee with a goal that made it 5-5 with 56 seconds left in the third period, but Steven Qualiata scored the game-winner early in OT for the Chill.

In the game against Brookings, Chase Brand forced overtime when he scored a third period goal for the Blizzard. Brookings won the shootout 1-0 by stopping the Bruins on all four of their attempts.
