An Austin man was airlifted to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester Tuesday after falling in a trash compactor.

According to an Austin Police Department report, emergency personal were called to the scene at 2:14 p.m. Tuesday afternoon for a report of a 60-year-old man, who was dumping at the Transfer Station in the 100 block of 28th Street NE, who had fallen into the compactor. Austin Police, Mower County Sheriff’s deputies, Austin Fire Department responded and Mayo One then airlifted that man after he was rescued.

There was no report as to the extent of the injuries.
