The Southland football team got its season back on track when it topped Wabasha-Kellogg (3-4 overall) 27-14 in Adams Friday.

The Rebels (3-4 overall) had lost their four previous contests to ranked teams and they led just 7-6 early in the third quarter against the Falcons before they rallied.

“It was a great win for us. We had some big plays and we really stepped up and we needed that,” Southland head coach Shawn Kennedy said.

Carl Mueller threw three touchdown passes in the win for Southland and Parker Brigham, who had an interception, returned to the lineup after missing three games with an injury.

“Parker is still probably only fifty percent, but for him to be on the field was huge,” Kennedy said.

Chris Webber caught two TDs for Southland, Tyler Jax had an interception and Carter Schmitz recovered a fumble.
