Robert J. Hulet, 79, of Maplewood, Minnesota, formerly of Austin, Minnesota, died peacefully on Oct. 18, 2016.

Bob was born Oct. 4, 1937, in Austin and graduated from the University of Minnesota after studying Hispanic studies and foreign language education.

He worked for Western Union for 20 years and the U.S. Postal Service for 14 years. He was a member of Star of the North Band for 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Marjorie (Himle); and his brother, Richard.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jeanette (Lowe); sister-in-law, Mary Hulet; and four nieces and nephews, along with his beloved kitty companions.

At Bob’s request there will be no service. Inurnment in Austin will be at a future date.

Memorials are welcomed to Last Hope Animal Rescue or the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra.
