Mary Lou (Krebsbach) Houle, 82

Mary Lou (Krebsbach) Houle, 82, was born on Nov. 28, 1933, in Adams, Minnesota, and grew up in nearby Austin. She was one of 13 children of Sadie and Alois Krebsbach.

She married Clifford Ralph Houle of Renton, Washington, in 1966, and lived in Seattle and Bellevue, Washington, for 37 years, returning to Austin in 2003. Clifford preceded her in death in 1985.

She is survived by two of her sisters, Vivian Hall and Angela Hall, and her children and their spouses: Annevtte and Doug Story, James and Sachiyo Houle, and Matthew and Karina Houle. She is survived by four grandchildren: Soichiro, Katie, Caroline, and Patrick. She also is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Mary Lou had many friends she loved dearly in Minnesota, Washington State, and elsewhere.

Mary Lou was a parishioner of Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bellevue. She was fond of bingo, bowling, bells, and baking. She would often cook “enough food to feed an army” and advised her children that “You can say ‘sh*t’. It’s not a bad word.”

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in with Father Dale Tupper officiating.  Friends may call one hour before the service at the church on Friday.  Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Community Services.
