He was greatly loved and he loved the Lord. A poem by his daughter Pam is included below:
“Thank you” by Ray Boltz
Resonated with my heart.
My father knew Jesus &
He tried to live the part.
Not perfect, just a man
Who cared and would say,
“I’d like to tell you
About the Savior today.”
His goal was to give daily,
To those he would see,
A book called the Bible
So with Jesus they could be.
Dad tried to share with kindness
And a true and loving heart.
He talked with God daily,
Wanted truth to impart.
His human heart was fragile,
His kidneys weren’t all there,
Yet his task never changed…
‘Share the God who really cares.’
I say, “Thank you, Dad
For Giving to the Lord,
Your time and attention,
Sharing the one you adored.”
May I strive to be a beacon
May I try to share the light
Of how to know the Savior
And escape from this world’s night.
The many lives he touched,
Now in heaven may Dad see,
The results of his labors,
With his Risen Savior be.
A broken earthly vessel
Salvation made him free
Taken in God’s time.
To heaven eternally.
Loved and missed from this life,
Yet we know: HE Loves You More.
Through pain and tears we offer you up
Our Husband, Father, Friend, Mentor.
