The Hayfield volleyball team held off Cannon Falls (8-12 overall, 3-5 HVL) with a come from behind win in Hayfield Tuesday. The Vikings beat the Bombers by scores of 22-25, 23-25, 25-15, 25-15, 15-7.
Carrie Rutledge had 19 kills and 22 digs for the Vikings (14-4 overall, 5-2 HVL) and Maggie Streightiff had 16 kills, 32 set assists and 19 digs.
“Cannon Falls is so scrappy and it was difficult to find our offensive groove,” Hayfield head coach Jeremy Struck said. “But I told them to win in the HVL, you have to execute and bring a little attitude. We finally did both of those things to close out the match. This was a good win for us.”
