Ervin Michael Kramer, 92, of Adams, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, at Good Samaritan in St. Ansgar, Iowa.

Ervin was born Feb. 15, 1924, to Phillip and Mary (Merten) Kramer. He grew up in Johnsburg and worked as a farmhand. He moved to Illinois and worked at Ford Motor Company then transferred to GM Locomotive to work as a machinist until his retirement in 1983.

Ervin returned to Adams. He enjoyed watching his great nephew, Mike, play baseball. Ervin enjoyed all sports, especially baseball. Ervin spent many springs and falls doing fieldwork for his cousins which he enjoyed very much.

Survivors include a nephew, Jim (Marjean) Kramer, Orchard, Iowa; three nieces, Donna Burkhardt, Osage, Iowa, Shirley (Joe) Jenisson, Rochester, Minnesota, Judy (Sam) Bradley, Phoenix, Arizona; special great nephew, Mike Kramer; special great niece, Tina Kramer (David) Christisen; special cousin and friend, Eugene Merten, Adams, Minnesota.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Melvin and Harlan; and two sisters-in-law, Serelda and Margaret.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams with Father Swaminatha Pothireddy officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Johnsburg.
