Austin sees 2-3.7 inches of rain; Turtle Creek in flood warning

A food warning was issued on Turtle Creek in Austin on Wednesday after the Austin area received 2 to 3.7 inches of rain overnight.

According to the National Weather Service, Austin saw 3.7 inches of rain overnight in northeast Austin, 3.35 inches at the Austin Wastewater Treatment Facility and  varying reports to 2.05 inches at Austin Municipal Airport.

Grand Meadow reported 2.75 inches.

Austin has received 45.03 inches of rain to date, higher than normal 31.11 inches — and the highest recorded through this point of the year.

That ranks 2016 at the second wettest year in Austin on record, just behind the 2015 record of 45.69 inches.
