Letter: Thanks for supporting Walk for Animals

Published 8:36 am Wednesday, September 14, 2016

The Mower County Humane Society would like to thank everyone who participated in our 20th Annual Walk for Animals on Sept 11. With your help, our group raised approximately $11,000 to be used in the rescue of abandoned cats and dogs in Mower County. 100 percent of this money will be used for our rescue efforts — MCHS is an all-volunteer group. We currently have in residence 151 felines and 30 canines. If you are thinking of adding a pet to your home, please stop by during one of our open houses and take a look at who we currently have in residence!

Thank you to Hy-Vee, Rent-n-Save, Old 218, Cinemagic 7 Theatre, Family Video, Lisa Belden, Double K Specialty, Austin Vet Clinic, Austin Public Library, and Austin Park and Rec, Austin Daily Herald, Mower County Shopper, and the 20-plus volunteers for helping us put this event together. A special thanks to Raquel Hellman of KIMT TV3 and Barry Rush of Rush Hour for being the “Masters of Ceremony!”

The Mower County Humane Society will be sponsoring another low-cost spay/neuter clinic with MNSNAP for cats and dogs on Nov 10 here at our facility. To sign up, go to MNSNAP.org and click on Thurs, Nov 10. Help us eliminate unwanted kittens and puppies!
