A woman reported her 5-year-old miniature-pincher/cocker spaniel emotional support dog was stolen when put outside Monday night.

The woman told Austin police she put the dog, named Bella, out on a leash tied to a post at the 400 block of 27th Street Southwest property around 9:15 p.m., went out to get it about a half-hour later and found the dog gone.

She reported the dog stolen, and Austin officers searched the area and animal shelter with negative results.

Officers acknowledged the possibility the dog somehow got loose.
