Packer girls tennis team beats Faribault in home opener

The Austin girls tennis team picked up its first win of the season when it topped Faribault 5-2 in its home opener Paulson Tennis courts Tuesday.

The Packers (1-4 overall, 1-4 Big Nine) swept the singles matches and sophomore Sarah Bachmeier won a nail-biter as she won the No. 3 match 2-6, 7-6 (7-2) (10-2).

Mariel Flaherty, Emily Sayles and Katie Jensen all won their singles matches in two sets for Austin.
