A 19-year-old reported an Austin Public Library T-Mobile hotspot he’d checked out was stolen from the Austin Skate Park on July 18.

However, the teen didn’t report the incident until Monday after library officials recommended he report it, according to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger.

The Austin City Council voted unanimously Monday to let the library buy 30 more hotspots to go with its 55 units.

In July, library officials said they’d had good luck with the hotspot units and all had been returned.
