Austin’s King Buffet is closed after being evicted for more than $55,000 in unpaid rent.

According to civil court records, King Buffet restaurant owner Chang Liang Chen of Mason City, Iowa, owes $55,227 in unpaid rent along with attorney fees dictated in the lease to property owner BRE Retail Residual Owner 3 LLC.

BRE gave King Buffet a first notice of default on Dec. 17, 2015, and a second notice on Feb. 25 and didn’t receive payment after either notice. BRE filed the civil lawsuit on July 22, and an eviction hearing was held Aug. 9.
