Hart hits two homers, but Hounds fall to Shakopee at state tourney

The Austin Greyhounds saw a late lead disappear as they lost 5-4 to the Shakopee Indians at the Class B state amateur baseball tournament in Dassel Friday.

The Hounds will play a Class B elimination game in Hutchinson 5 p.m. Sept. 2.

The Hounds led 4-3 going into the ninth, when Shakopee loaded the bases with no outs and eventually scored the winning run on a throwing error by the Hounds.

Austin had trailed 2-1, but it rallied in the sixth inning. Jordan Hart hit his second solo homer of the night to tie the game at 2-2 and Logan Spitzack and Josh Evans each added an RBI to put Austin up 4-2.
