Austin man seriously injured in Highway 63 crash; Head-on crash occurred Saturday west of Spring Valley

An Austin man was seriously injured in a head-on collision west of Spring Valley Saturday.

Alfred Kpaingbah, 24, of Austin was transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus after a eastbound 2010 Nissan Altima he was in collided with a westbound 2006 Toyota Rav 4 around 10:08 a.m. on Highway 63, according to the Minnesota State Patrol

It has not been released if Kpaingbah was a passenger or the driver of the Altima.

Cole Hockman, 19, of West Orange, New Jersey, was driving the Rav 4 and was taken to St. Marys for non-life threatening injuries, while the condition of Mary Hockman, 53, a passenger in the Rav 4, was not documented.

The sheriffs offices in Mower, Fillmore and Olmsted counties assisted on the scene.

Information was listed as incomplete as of Monday morning, and the state patrol listen more information would be released on the occupants of the Nissan Altima would be released as they become available.

A collision between a motorcycle and car left one man injured at Highway 56 and Interstate 90 Sunday evening.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Chevrolet driven by Tanner Becvar, 19, of Hayfield was stopped at the top of the ramp facing east when a Harley Davidson driven by 68-year-old Keith Schroeder of Edgerton, Wisconsin, was traveling south on Highway 56. Becvar pulled out to make a left turn and collided with the motorcycle.

Schroeder was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin for non-life threatening injuries. Becvar and passenger in his vehicle, Tristin Janes, had no apparent injuries.
