One of two people arrested after an April traffic stop that led to a meth arrest took a plea agreement in Mower County court Thursday.

Karry Wenthold, 29, of Rochester pleaded guilty as part of the agreement to felony first-degree possession of drugs and misdemeanor fourth-degree DWI charges.

Another person involved, Bradley Quimby, 47, pleaded not guilty in July to first-degree drug crime and driving after a cancellation.

Mower County Sheriff’s Office deputies saw a 1998 Acura Integra driving north on Highway 56 and saw Quimby and Wenthold in the vehicle at about 10:18 p.m. on April 2.

The car had a broken license plate light and officers followed the car on County Road 2 and stopped it after the driver crossed the fog line twice.

Quimby and Wenthold had switched seats and Wenthold was in the driver’s seat. When asked why they switched, the woman said she was always driving.

Quimby said he didn’t have his driver’s license and officers learned it was canceled and he had a felony arrest warrant from Goodhue County. He was arrested.

The officers spoke to Wenthold, who confirmed Quimby had been driving the car first. Officers saw Wenthold showed signs of having used drugs and officers found a glass pipe on her.

Officers searched the Acura and found a bag and plastic container that contained about 34 grams of meth under the front passenger seat. They also found a metal marijuana pipe in the center console. Deputies also seized two cell phones and $2,229 in cash on Quimby and in the car.

Quimby denied ownership of anything in the Acura, but said the money belonged to his “boss.”

Wenthold’s is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 9, 2017. Quimby is slated for a Feb. 10, 2017, pretrial and Feb. 21, 2017. trial.
