ST. PAUL— Protesters are again blocking the street in front of the governor’s mansion in response to the recent police killing of a black man in Minnesota.

Protesters had been gathered on Summit Avenue since the July 6 shooting of Philando Castile, who was killed during a traffic stop in Falcon Heights. They say they won’t leave until St. Anthony police officer Jeronimo Yanez is charged.

Police reopened Summit Avenue to traffic last week, and protesters were moved to the sidewalk. But on Sunday, demonstrators went back into the street.

The street remained blocked Monday morning. St. Paul police said they were assessing the situation. There have been no arrests or citations.

Castile’s sister, Allysza Castile, briefly spoke to protesters Sunday, saying she loved them.
