Mary Margaret Keller–Wood, 71, of Austin, Minnesota, died peacefully at her home Friday evening, July 1, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Born Oct. 2, 1944, in Belleville, Illinois, she was the daughter of August and Stella (Eckert) Keller. Mary grew up in Belleville, Illinois where she graduated from the Belleville High School. Mary was united in marriage to James Wood on Jan. 2, 1964, in Edwardsville, Illinois. To this union three children were born, James Jr., Stephanie & Sarah. Mary graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1966 with a degree in education. She taught elementary education for several years in Idaho and Hawaii. After her teaching career, Mary worked for the Transylvania Company in housekeeping in Brevard, North Carolina. Being a wife, mother and grandmother brought Mary happiness throughout her life. Mary was a lifelong member of the Jehovah Witness. Her faith was very important to her. In March of 2016, the couple moved to Austin Minnesota to be closer to her family.

Mary is survived by her loving husband James Wood of Austin, Minnesota; three children, James Jr. (Angie) Wood of Charleston, West Virginia, Stephanie Wood of Brevard, North Carolina and Sarah Wood and her husband Dennis Hall of Brownsdale, Minnesota; two grandchildren James III and Brianna Wood; one sister Carol (Donald) Weihl of Belleville, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her loving parents.

A Memorial Service will be held at a 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness located at 2115 Fifth Ave. SE, Austin, MN, 55912, with John Best officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery.
