Project Graduation 2016, “Making Memories Around the World,” took place Friday, June 10, 2016 at Austin High School following the AHS graduation ceremony.
This event has been held every year since 1989 to celebrate the end of high school for all of Austin’s graduating seniors. Planning begins in January and concludes with a fun-filled night of games, food, entertainment, prizes and gifts for the students. This year approximately 175 students participated in Project Graduation.
We are extremely thankful for the continued support of the community. Thank you to all of the businesses, service organizations and community members who donated food, money, prizes and your services to Project Graduation. Without your support this event would not be possible.
Thank you also to the 126 adult volunteers who planned and staffed the event, the security volunteers from the Austin Police Department, AHS Principal Katie Baskin, many AHS staff members, the Austin Public Schools administration, and Pete Nelson and the AHS custodial staff. Project Graduation was a success because of each of you.
The students who attended were very appreciative of all the work that went into planning this event. Based on the feedback from the seniors, the entire night was a huge success!
We thank all of you for your very generous support of Project Graduation, and we congratulate the class of 2016!
